  1. #1 matches the color scheme of your previous two books so that’d be cool. But #2 rocks. I vote #2.

  3. I think I like #2 the best… I so can’t wait til this book comes out!! I loved the first 2 in the series. :)

  5. definitely #1! very eye-catching and awesome looking! :) #2 is a close second, but your name is much harder to read in that one, I think because of the use of that lighter weight typeface :)

  7. Dude, #1 without a doubt. Color and layout easily the best. And TRUST me, I’m a book cover designer, not just an author. :) Just pull your name in a tad on the sides so its not being cut off.

  9. I like #1 and #2 (if it had your name in the same style as #1). I think I lean toward #1. “The Deadly Hours” stand out a little more when it’s all in red. “Hours” in #2 seems a bit connected to the number 9 on the clock. I do like the clock hand on #2, but not enough to completely sway me from #1. :-)

I greatly prefer the font treatment for your name in #1. :-)

  11. May have commented on the wrong post before – I go for #3

  13. #1!

  14. Katie on December 9th, 2009 at 1:47 pm
  15. I like option #2 the best!

  16. Kristyn on December 9th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
  17. Matt, #1, hands down! The color pops, won’t get lost on the shelf. Like your name treatment in #3 best, but #1 is a close second. In #2 I can hardly see it. Love la tour eiffel…

  18. erin healy on December 9th, 2009 at 2:23 pm
  19. Matt, I think I would have to go with number 1. It carries similar colors to the other 2 books and the orange just jumps out at me. Very vibrant. The only thing I would recommend is moving the “The” more to the right closer to the Eiffel Tower watch hand as to differentiate it from the watch face numerals.

    Looking forward to the read.

  21. It’s a toss up between 1 & 3 – I’m gonna have to go with #3

  22. Sheila Staves on December 9th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
  23. I like number 2 the best, except for the fact that your last name gets a bit lost…

  24. Eric Wyatt on December 9th, 2009 at 3:06 pm
  25. #1 – Definitely!

  26. Tom Davis on December 9th, 2009 at 3:06 pm
  27. I haven’t read any of the book yet, so I can’t let the story influence the scope and feel of the story, so on looks alone I would choose the cover that is below the “Vote Now” first and then #1.

  28. Garrett Groszko on December 9th, 2009 at 3:08 pm
  29. I vote for cover #1. It’s the most eye-catching.

  30. MarcyKate on December 9th, 2009 at 3:09 pm
  31. #1

  33. All are awesome. But my favorite is #1. Keep up the amazing work, Matt!!

  34. Joel M. on December 9th, 2009 at 3:11 pm
  35. Close between 1 and 2 but I think 1 is the most effective

  36. Fred on December 9th, 2009 at 3:13 pm
  37. I vote for #3!

  38. Charlotte White on December 9th, 2009 at 3:17 pm
  39. I like #1 the best. THe colors draw me and make me think of heat. And it sounds like the action is hot inside the book. :) So that’s my vote.

  40. Ane Mulligan on December 9th, 2009 at 3:17 pm
  41. I really like Cover #3. I think it captures the essence of the first two books and blends them together nicely. However, I like them all. Great job Cory!

  42. Ted Stile on December 9th, 2009 at 3:18 pm
  43. #3!!

  44. Kim on December 9th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
  45. Cover #2

  46. Toni Whitney on December 9th, 2009 at 3:22 pm
  47. I vote for cover #2.

  48. Troy Johnson on December 9th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
  49. Dang, that’s tough! It’s so close it hurts!

#3 is really neat, but I like the other options better. Between #2 and #1…I’m going to have to go with #1. (But only because the Eiffel Tower is clearer and there isn’t an awkward white smudge. I like your name better on #2. The color schemes are both great, too…)

So, #1 it is! Before I change my mind…

    Can’t wait to read it!

  50. Joel on December 9th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
  51. I really like #1.

  52. Laura Stieglitz on December 9th, 2009 at 3:33 pm
  53. I vote for #1. I think the color scheme is more intriguing, but what do I know!

  54. Tom Urban on December 9th, 2009 at 4:01 pm
  55. I vote for #1. (If #3 had a brighter red for the title I’d have voted for that.)

  56. Matthew Stutzman on December 9th, 2009 at 4:03 pm
  57. Hands Down… #1.

  67. #1, so obvious. luv.

  68. JawshPardee on December 9th, 2009 at 6:54 pm
  69. I like the color in #1. It is like fire and definitely will draw book buyers attention. #3 is also good, no real color but it is like one of those mysteries of the 40’s where the cover is stark and dramatic.

  70. Peggy on December 9th, 2009 at 7:00 pm
  71. #1

  72. Derek on December 9th, 2009 at 7:12 pm
  73. Number One.

  74. Tim Wachtstetter on December 9th, 2009 at 7:35 pm
  75. #3…I like the classic black and white effects!!

  76. Jeff on December 9th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
  77. #3 is my vote. :)

  78. Paul A Rose Jr on December 9th, 2009 at 7:49 pm
  79. I vote for number 1. #3 is cool but #1 is easier on the eyes.

  80. Bruce Hendrich on December 9th, 2009 at 8:09 pm
  81. #1 – I really like its vibrant color and the way the Eiffel Tower is clearer. Using the buildings as clock hands to match the title with where the action is is great. However, I prefer the font of the title on #3 better as somehow it seems to suggest more action.

  82. PJ on December 9th, 2009 at 8:51 pm
  83. #2 is by far the best

  84. Trevor on December 9th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
  85. I say #1. The first two had similar color schemes and it just looks right. I have House of Wolves in my reading stack for Christmas break. Illunimated was a great adventure.

  86. Amy on December 9th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
  87. Definitly #1 as most of the other responses have noted.

  88. Tim on December 9th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
  89. I like the color of #1, like your other two but it looks crowded as do all of the others. I like #2 because of the blood on the clock’s hands. It catches my attention and I want to find out more. I vote for #1 or #2 and declutter them a bit. I’ll read the book whatever cover it has! Phyllis

  95. I like #3 myself…brings to mind the old serial thriller books of yesteryear. But…that’s just me…As long as the books keep coming I’ll keep reading them!!

  96. Brian Hoffmeyet on December 10th, 2009 at 9:52 am
  97. Because of the color – cover #1. Definitely the most eye-catching! I wonder what it would look like if you added the color from #1 to the font and picture of #3 though.

  98. Michelle on December 10th, 2009 at 10:20 am
  99. Number one looks the best, and it keeps with your visual theme from your other works…Hope things work out with finding another publishing company… (im still writing that story by the way)

  100. RPF on December 10th, 2009 at 1:30 pm
  101. I vote for #1. It fits the series yet is distinctive. The others would just blend in on a bookstore shelf. I’ve asked for the bundle for Christmas so I can read The Deadly Hours even though I already have a copy of the first two. Since we’re voting on a cover does that mean that it will be published. I’d really like to have a copy to hold while reading.

  102. Chris Hill on December 10th, 2009 at 2:06 pm
  103. It is a toss up between 1 & 3. #2 is too faint in shades of grey and name disappears. I like the slanted fast speedy action-packed font in 3. But I like the attention grabbing eye-popping orange yellow cover on #1 the best! Combine the font in 3 and the colors on 1 and it is a keeper.

  104. Paul on December 10th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
  105. I vote for #1. It’s “illuminated”.

  106. Gail on December 10th, 2009 at 8:00 pm
  107. #2 love the red numbers and hour/minute hand…especially like the font on your name!

  108. Gazpacho on December 10th, 2009 at 8:11 pm
  109. I agree with the above statement “Number one looks the best, and it keeps with your visual theme from your other works…Hope things work out with finding another publishing company… “. So #1 is my vote.

  110. Diane on December 10th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
  111. #2 rocks!

  119. I must say, politics and religion bring out the best and also the very worst in people. The very best because both can lead to folk being incredibly helpful, the very worst as both can lead to unbelievably mulish and irrational acts. I’m not attacking you, your post simply made me grasp this, so thanks for that.

  120. Autumn Borguez on February 9th, 2010 at 2:28 pm
  121. I like #3! It looks really cool!

  122. Jennifer Ryhal on February 15th, 2010 at 5:32 pm

  125. You have really great taste on catch article titles, even when you are not interested in this topic you push to read it

  126. Art Richardson on February 19th, 2010 at 7:49 pm
  127. I would appreciate more visual materials, to make your blog more attractive, but your writing style really compensates it. But there is always place for improvement
